A new farm starts with 500 coins and 8 fields, and a short guide shows you every step. Here is what happens in your first hour, and how to make the most of it.
The beginner guide
The guide has 10 steps. Each one points at what to tap, and when you finish all of them you get 50 diamonds.
- Your first basket
- Your first market sale
- Plant a little possibility
- A little water goes a long way
- Put your buildings to work
- A gift for showing up
- A helping hand
- Good things need a little care
- Bring in the wheat
- Made on your farm
A head start in your first week
Every new farm grows faster at first: crops and production batches take 50% less time when the farm is new. The head start gets smaller day by day and ends after 7 days, so the first sessions feel quick and coming back the next days still pays.
Your first sale at the Market pays double, so sell your first harvest instead of keeping it.
Water early, care later
Every harvest gives one crop; water and care make it ripen sooner.
- Water takes 60% off the time the crop still needs (65% once you have the Water tower). Water within the first minute after planting.
- Extra care opens at 15% of the growing time and takes 60% off what is left then.
- Natural fertilizer, later on, takes 35% off the time that is left.
So a crop that would take 15 min is ready in about 4 min with water and care. More about water and care.
What to plant first
While you are playing, plant quick crops: wheat and corn are ready in minutes, and lettuce opens at level 3. Before you leave, plant something that takes longer, so your fields are working while you are away. The best crops for every level has the full list.
After the guide
- Buildings turn crops into goods that sell for more: feed, eggs, flour, bread and many more. See Buildings and goods.
- Quests always show your next goal, with coins and XP.
- The daily gift grows over seven days in a row: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12 diamonds.
- Farm families open at level 10 and events at level 15. See Farming with friends.
